SheaMoisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner

Feb 10, 2011 - I cannot say enough about the goodness of this product. After trying an expensive shampoo that completely stripped my hair and left it practically matted I returned back to Shea Moisture. At night I used it to detangle before putting my hair in bantu knots. My hair is recovering and the moisture is returning. The smell is nice too. I use this product on all of my children's hair (1,3, and 12),

Carols Daughter Tui Herbal Shampoo

Feb 01, 2011 - I am a long time CD patron. I have always used the Black Vanilla Shampoo because the Tui products are always sold out in our local mall. I finally tried the Tui shampoo and I was sadly dissapointed. My hair which was happy and healthy was completely stripped pf moisture and matted after the initial wash. I ended up detangling for almost 30 minutes and then using a deep conditioner and a leave in plus Some of Marguarites magic...it's been a week and my hair is still brittle. I gave it a 2 because the product smells wonderful.

Akada - Columbus, Ohio, United States
Stylist:
Mindi

Jun 11, 2012 - I actually went to this salon about three years ago right after my daughter was born. I have thick (thicker at the time due to post partum) 3B hair. I love how she cut my hair curl by curl to shape it. She cut it damp so she could see the nature of the curl (how it naturally took shape) she then coiled my hair and sat me under the dryer. She didn't use gel but argan oil instead....my hair smelled heavenly but didn't hold curls. I tried to explain how to two strand twist my hair or just rake gel through it....she did her method instead which is why I gave her a 4 BUT the hair cut alone earned a 5. Like another person said....I believe I was the first ethnic client she had but I beleive in time she will perform circles around any stylest because she is young and learning (open).

New Year New Knowledge

Jan 07, 2012 - For the first time in a long  time I washed my hair with one line of products. Why did I do that you ask? I'm trying to discover why my hair goes through these "dry" phases. I'm talking about these phases where detangling becomes a battle and my

Two Years Post Partum

Nov 04, 2011 - Hey fellow curldivas,It's been a while since my last post because I spend most of my NC time lurking and learning. LOL Today it dawned on me that the reason why my grow out plan isn't as successful (my own opionon) as I would like is because I had to

Naturally Curly & Oh so girly

Jun 30, 2011 - Going though a seperation can be painful...especially when you hair has had a wonderful relationship with a product for so long. LOL I have decided to part ways with a couple of products that have been staples in my arsenal of hair care.
