Jul 07, 2013 - I LOVE DCOC as a deep conditioner; it is only so-so for a regular/daily conditioner b/c the slip/detangling is only average. WHen I DC I get supersoft, hydrated curls that pop! The only problem with the product is that it doesn't have enough oil--just a small amount of olive oil, which in my opinion, doesn't warrant the high price point. I add a little oil to the product which makes it complete. ***What is great about this formula is that it has a TON of humectants in it*** That's what we want in a DC,folks. Aloe vera is high on the ingredients list +bhentrimonium chloride, and 3 others. My routine: After washing hair, add DCOC mixed with your favorite oil. Twist hair into big twists (3c+) Wrap a super hot water soaked tee shirt around your head, and cover the wrap with a plastic shower cap. Sit under hooded dryer for 20-25 minutes. Rinse out and follow with moisturizer, immediately. This routine works WONDERS on my hair. Rehydrates like a dream. Yes, some of the success is due to the steam treatment itself, but I get better results with DCOC than the other conditioners I use, b/c all of the humectants grab the water from the steam and lock it into my hair.
