Carols Daughter Marula Softening Hair Mask

Sep 03, 2014 - The Marula Softening Hair Mask claims to restore, soothe, and moisturize. It also claims to add extra moisture to your hair. After washing my hair with the Gentle Cream Cleanser, I applied to the mask to soaking wet hair. I was amazed with the slip this product provided, I mean, wow! I did not have to use much of it on my thick hair, a little goes a long way with this mask. I decided to add a bit of the softening serum to the mask as well. After applying it, my hair was very soft and slippery. I decided to sit under a hooded dryer for 10-15 minutes for added moisture. I had high expectations and was excited to rinse my hair and see the results. After rinsing out the mask, my hair was not soft like I expected it to be, but it was detangled. After only a few minutes my hair felt dry. There are so many other deep conditioner alternatives that can do a much better job. Deep conditioning is one of my favorite things to do, and I was very disappointed with the results.

Carols Daughter Marula Diffusing & Styling Lotion

Sep 03, 2014 - The Marula Diffusing & Styling lotion claims to restore, moisturize, and define. You apply a dime sized amount to damp hair and work it through with your fingers. I was very upset with the results after using this product, mainly because the product description specifically says that it does not leave curls stiff and dry, which is exactly what it did to my hair. It also did nothing to define my natural curl pattern. I used the lotion after deep conditioning with the Marula Softening Hair Mask, and it did not add any moisture to my hair. After applying to the lotion to my damp, thick type 4c hair, it took only 4-5 minutes for my hair to drink the lotion up and get dry again while I was twisting it. I even tried adding a bit of the softening serum in combination with the lotion, but my hair was still very dull, dry, and there was no shine.

Carols Daughter Marula Oil Softening Serum

Sep 02, 2014 - The Marula Oil Softening Serum claims to restore, soothe, moisturize, and enhance curls. The directions offer three different ways to use the product, so I decided to do a hot oil treatment before washing my hair. I warmed up the oil bottle in hot water for 3 minutes as the directions stated, and then massaged the oil into my dry hair. Before rinsing out, I sat with the oil in my hair for about 5 minutes. After rinsing the oil out, my hair did not feel very soft and my curls were not enhanced. The oil has a nice powdery smell. I also tried this product while my hair was damp and got the same results. After using the Marula Oil Softening Serum, I will definitely be sticking with my own homemade oil mixture.
