Oct 03, 2010 - OMG! I just found my new stylist and I'm sooo excited. After looking at the reviews here about Jody I called to make an appointment. I called after hours (it was 8:05 pm) and left a voicemail explaining how I found them and that I wanted a cut with Jody. My plan was if they didn't call me back the next day I'd go somewhere else. Well to my surprise they not only called me back (by 10:30 am the next day) they explained in their voicemail to me that Jody was on medical leave, but there were 2 stylists, she gave me their names, that were taking Jody's curly hair clients, they were very good too.....Well I've had sooo many really bad haircuts that I wasn't too sure about going to someone who was "filling in", so I didn't call back that day. Again, to my surprise, Paige (receptionist) called me back the next day. I spoke directly with her and told her my fears and experiences with really bad haircuts. She told me that Kathy, who is the owner, has been cutting curly hair, and that she didn't think I'd be disappointed. I was in dire need of a cut so I agreed. Paige said that she'd notate how nervous I was, and that I'd had really bad experiences in the past. I got there and really liked what I saw about the salon. It has a very friendly and "homey" feel to it. I was not kept waiting. Kathy walked up to me and introduced herself. I sat down and started my story. She listened intently, asked questions, looked at my pictures I brought with me, and reiterated she understood I'd had bad experiences. Kathy explained EVERY step she made. She didn't cut my hair dry (which I'm not a big fan of anyway). She cut , checked the curl shrinkage, and asked me what I thought. My hair turned out beautiful and exactly how I wanted it. No length was cut (just a dusting) and wonderful layers at the top. I cannot say enough about Kathy and her salon. She's sweet, soft spoken, kind to her staff, personable, I could go on, but you get the idea. I will go nowhere else from now on.
