I'm a 2a swavy who is once again trying to encourage the curl instead of resorting to a pixie, and after googling around, found Shear Artistry in Madison (Huntsville area), AL. Beverly lists DevaCurl training in her bio, and the salon carries both DevaCurl and Redken products. I had a consultation with her a couple of months ago, and she typed my hair, recommended some products (Redken Curvaceous line, which I really liked), and also recommended cutting my hair every 12 weeks. I went back this week and we discussed further what I'm aiming for. Then she trimmed my bangs dry, then washed and conditioned my hair, dried it by scrunching with paper towels, used DevaCurl B'Leave-In to style (more scrunching), and sat me under a hood dryer. In other words - she understood my hair type, definitely did not make me feel like, as a swavy girl, I was fooling myself or in the wrong place, and recommended products and techniques that seem to be working very well for me. I'm excited to have found Beverly!
