EO Products Tame Coconut and Vanilla Curl Control Gel

May 05, 2013 - This is not a bad gel. No crunch and yummy smell. Unfortunately I can't use it because of the glycerin, which does not fare well for high dew points. The gel containing glycerin isn't a "fault" of the gel, but I do wish more styling products existed without out it. If you don't have a glycerin problem or live in moderate dews and want a medium hold gel, you can check this out.

Alba Botanica Leave-In Conditioner

May 02, 2013 - New Ingredients: Ingredients: Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Coconut Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Vitamin B5, Green Tea Extract , Moringa Seed Extract, Sisal Extract, Fenugreek Seed Extract, Marshmallow Leaf/Root Extract, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Lavender Extract, Calendula Flower Extract, Chamomile Extract, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate This is a lovely leave-in. I have 2a/2b, porous, medium-fine, med density hair. I've had some great luck with conditioner-only styling with this product. It definitely moisturizes and helps define my waves also. I was initially worried about the glycerin, I live in a tropical climate w/ very high dew points and glycerin doesn't usually bode very well. However it's okay with this product. I think because coconut oil, a natural anti-humectant, is above glycerin, a humectant, and they kind of cancel each other out. This product has not given me the usual glycerin induced frizz. Overall I would repurchase and would recommend. Note: it does weight down my hair a little bit but I need a little bit of weight. If you have super fine and super low density (thin) hair, you might find it a bit too heavy, otherwise I'd say give it a try!

Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner

Mar 30, 2013 - So far I'm really impressed with this conditioner. Really left my hair soft, shiny and silky-feeling. Great for detangling. Now I'm rotating it w/ the 50:50 for fear of protein overload, but I may be able to use it alone. The ingredients on my bottle however are different than the two formulations listed: Aqua, Cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, butylene clycol, cetrimonium bromide, phenoxyethanol, ethylthexylglycerin, natural fragrance, hydrolyzed soy protein, matricaria leaf extract, valencia orange extract, grapefruit extract, lemongrass extract, echinacea purpurea extract, ginkgo biloba extract, soybean seed extract, lavender extract, rosemary leaf extract, sea kelp extract, mango extract, willow bark
