Mar 10, 2008 - I was like many others with curly hair -- I would dread a visit to the salon knowing that the stylist would try to talk me into some straight-hair style that would leave me with the predicament of having to blowdry my hair everyday or in some cases, give me that kind of style regardless of my insistance that I actually LIKE my natural curls. Then several years ago I was told by a friend of a friend that Joseph was THE guy to go to in Philly if you have curly hair, and I haven't looked back since. Every single time I've been in, I've left with exactly what I was looking for -- an incredible cut that supports and showcases my curly hair. Because I work about an hour outside of Center City, I usually have to go through traffic hell in order to get there in time for an evening appointment, but the minute I walk in the door Joseph does his magic de-frazzling not just my hair, but my entire attitude. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone with curly hair, although with one piece of advice: TRUST HIM -- HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING. If you are only comfortable when you can dictate exactly how your stylist should do his or her job, then cut your own hair or go somewhere else. For the past 3 years, I've never said anything to Joseph regarding the length I want, the layers I want or the look that I want. Why? Because I know I don't have to. And like I said before, I have never walked out the door with anything less than EXACTLY what I wanted. --Colleen
