Redken Curvaceous Ringlet Perfecting Lotion

Feb 01, 2015 - So far it's working pretty great on my 3B hair! I'm using a small amount on its own after washing (I find my hair is limp if I combine with a leave-in...probably because my hair is quite fine). It has good slip and I find that it smooths frizz pretty decently when I rake it in! It doesn't have the best hold unfortunately, so I'm going to see if there's a light gel or something that I can combine it with.

Redken Curvaceous Full Swirl

Feb 01, 2015 - I'm going to give this a good rating in that I KNOW it works...just not on me. I had a coworker who was a curly girl like me, similar curls just a bit looser and her hair was slightly thicker. She used this product and she would come to work with great hair. I believe she was co-washing with a drug store product and then using this to style. It did not work for myself unfortunately. I have very very fine hair and this caused build-up like nobody's business; I wouldn't recommend it for my fine-haired friends simply due to that.

AG Hair Cosmetics Details Defining Cream

Apr 11, 2014 - I bought this product after I originally went to the salon to purchase Re:Coil. I got a bit confused when I got there, not entirely sure what the difference between the activating Re:Coil cream was and the defining Details cream was. The employee kindly explained that she thought that since I already had curls, this product would be better as it would provide more hold and definition than the Re:Coil, since that was more for people with say, waves to give them curls. So I purchased this. Should have gone with my original plan, I think. This product has a few pros, such as it DID give decent hold (though I combined with a gel so it could be the gel), and the curls were actually pretty shiny. However, they did not feel soft,I had quite a few fly-aways after a couple of hours, and immediately I could feel the build up in my hair, despite using a modest amount. And that's not mentioning the TERRIBLE smell. I'm not sure what they were trying to go for, but it was the most awful product smell I've tried to date and that alone is deterring me from using it again; I'm going to exchange it at the salon and try the Re:Coil instead.
