Aug 07, 2010 - I can NOT say enough about how wonderful Tameeka is. She is so patient and so knowledgable about curls. My daughter is 7 years old and we live in Virginia. We have searched high and low for someone who knows what they are doing with her hair (she is bi-racial and has extremely curly hair). We drove to NYC to see Tameeka based on reviews I had read. She was so incredibly kind and really really took her time to talk through my daughters hair and what products work best and what techniques work best. She also talked to my daughter on her level, she didn't just ignore her like previous stylists did. She shared all sorts of tips with me to get the same results at home etc and I have (thought my version doesn't last as long but I will figure that part out on my next visit) I have NO problem at all driving to NYC to see Tameeka again. She has also made herself available to me since we saw her in person - she is just amazing. My daughter of course "hates" her hair but since Tameeka has very similar hair she really gave my daughter a pep talk about loving her hair and how she should pay attention to all the models and people walking around NYC they all either try to have hair like hers or they do have her hair and they embrace it. Hearing this from someone like Tameeka (very genuine) sealed the deal for my little girl, she now "likes" her hair and doesn't ask me to straighten it anymore. I will take it! I am sure as she continues to see Tameeka, she will continue to embrace her curls and eventually love them! You can not go wrong making an appointment with her, she is truly talented and is extremely sweet and just an all around genuine person!
