Jul 22, 2011 - I am so glad that a salon that caters to curly hair has opened near me. I used to go to Oasis in Rockville, but between the distance, the rising cost of a curly trim, and that fact that my stylist (Catherine) no longer worked there, I was stuck with trimming my own hair. That was not a good thing. The day I found out that Catherine opened her salon near me, I made a beeline there to check it out and make my appointment. First of all, it is located in the Kentlands which offers plenty of parking near the building the salon is in. The salon itself isn't very large, but quite serene with tasteful decorations and relaxing music. Second of all, I was seen as soon as I arrived. Catherine is the only stylist at the moment, but there was no waiting time. The trim was what I come to expect of a Deva "Curly Girl" trim so I was more than satisfied. I like that I do not feel pressured to use the hair products that she has in stock as I have my own preferences that work very well for me. Third, the price of services is very reasonable. I like that more than just curly hair services are offered in case I ever want to change my hair up with color or braided styles. Catherine is also a makeup artist and sells a couple of different lines. This worked out very well for me as I am starting to experiment with makeup (never wore it as a teenager or in my twenties). She tried different mineral foundations on me and I have finally found one that matches my skin tone exactly after months of trying store and mail-order brands. I intend to slowly replace the products that are not working for me with some of the products she offers. Overall, I highly recommend Catherine and Beauty Naturals Supply and Salon. I will be going back for other services very soon. PS--She also has some pretty cute and unique jewelry for sale.
