Aug 19, 2010 - I just moved to Ann Arbor and needed a stylist, and based on the reviews here I went to Carmen at Serendipity this morning for a trim. She is WONDERFUL! When I walked in, she actually sat down with me to talk about my hair -- the things I like about it, don't like, and what I wanted -- before getting me washed or even settled in the cutting chair. Not only did she not bat an eye at the no-poo thing, she actually RECOMMENDED it before I even mentioned it (in fact, she said that she herself has not used shampoo on her [naturally straight!] hair for two years!). As far as the trim, I told her that I'm trying to grow my hair out for my wedding next summer, and she was very conscientious about not taking off any more length than necessary. As soon as she said, "I'm going to cut your layers to match the shape of your head," I was sold. (She added, "I want your hair to cascade down like a waterfall!") My hair looks better than it has ever looked right now. I'm going back to Carmen next week for color. So happy to FINALLY have found a stylist who loves curly hair and knows what to do with it! Carmen repeatedly told me how gorgeous my hair was and how great it is that I don't straighten it. ♥ I would highly recommend her. The trim was $55.
