Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment

Sep 18, 2010 - I love the Jessicurl line. I had been hesitant after buying her Too Shea, Rockin Ringlets, Confident Coils, and this, the deep treatment, to go off and venture into other curl products. Eventually, I did. I keep coming back to Jessicurl because of the price, the quality, and the overall "cleanliness" her products offer. I enjoy curl definition, and some hold, but not a lot... This gives a really good balance and allows my hair to breathe and move while being conditioned and defined. I wouldn't say it would work for everyone, Rockin Ringlets doesn't seem to work for 2's, sometimes even 4's. But the confident coils, poos, and conditions seem to be fairly universal. Anyways, as for the deep treatment. It is good. I don't even use it with heat but my hair is extremely moisturized for days after using it. Which is exactly what a weekly deep treatment's purpose is for. The rosemary, bay, horsetail, and sage help stimulate scalp growth. The ingredients themselves are moisturizing and create incredible slip and shine. A lot of curlmart's deep treatments have this, but not for the price. As a student, the price tag is perfect. In the drier, cold seasons, I will use this as a leave-in(have a light hand when doing so or you will over condition your hair!) and it is lovely.

DevaCurl DevaCare Arc AnGEL

Sep 18, 2010 - I truly believe that Deva's poos and conditioners are as good as they seem..but the hype over the styling products is not one worth tampering with, in my opinion..due to the varying results. I had Arc AnGell used once, just once on me, and I knew it was a hate relationship. Most gels, even if they dry hard, are fairly easy to srunch out. Not this. My hair was crunchy, and dry. I could stretch my curl out and hear the gel breaking apart to let my hair fall more loose. The kicker? I hadn't even used that much of the product. The gel DID give great curl definition (normally I have tight ringlets, but this gave extremely tight coils..which I found beautiful. The curlier the better) and I had no frizz. You may be skeptical since I only tried it once, but I know when a product is wrong for me, and I hate having that producty feeling in my hair. I could feel it, touch it, and my hair wouldn't move with the product in it. If you prefer a really good hold, with that crunchy look, this is it. I know some do. I personally do not, I love the way my hair moves as my head moves, and that is why I could not/would not use it again.

DevaCurl Low-Poo

Sep 18, 2010 - I had serious build up, from using a Pureology Shampoo(for anyone else considering, Pureology is not vegan, and is only sulfate free..silicones and parabens are still in the ingredients) Anyways, due to the silicones in Pureology my build up got so bad my scalp was always over conditioned, and heavy. My hair stylist used Deva Low Poo just one time, and the build up that had been there for months, was almost gone... With further use, the build IS gone. I can say this, it is not drying or stripping...and I have extremely dry hair. It leaves the perfect balance of moisture without weighing hair down. I am giving three curls because of the parabens and amodemithcone left in the shampoo..but so far I have had no issues. The price, in my opinion, is average for curlmart's products and worth the pricetag for what it has to offer.

Texture Salon - Bellevue, Nebraska, United States

Sep 19, 2010 - I have been going to Lisa since I was 12(9 years total)...for a long time, I had difficulty excepting my curly hair, so I wore it straight..she gave a perfect cut that balanced between curly and straight so I could wear it either/or. She is...fantastic, I mean fantastic, at hair color. She listens, understands what you want, and is able to give it and so much more. If you let her, just ask her what is best and she can give you some incredible ideas for hairstyling, cuts, and color. About a year ago I went curly, and continued to go to her....Many hairstylists cannot achieve cutting curly hair, but she has mastered it. She does cut wet, but I have never had an issue..recently I had a DevaCut in the city I am in, and they remarked how uncommon it is for a stylist to cut curly hair correctly while wet, and she had :) (my previous cut had been with her) I do not know any of the other hair stylists there, so I cannot say if they would be as good. I have always trusted her, and that is huge when it comes to my curls..I really will not let anyone cut my hair. Recently, I moved to Kansas City and had to find a new stylist, but I continue to miss going to her. She will make you feel relaxed, at ease, and leave you with a fabulous new haircut.

New Creations Salon - Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Sep 18, 2010 - I had my first hair cut at New Creations yesterday and fell in love. Ginger cut and styled my hair, but no worries, from what I can see, and have been told, all of the hair stylists at New Creations are experienced in cutting curly hair. They use the DevaCut (cut the hair dry, then shampoo/condition and cut some wet before styling)... Ginger knows a lot about curly hair care and can guide anyone in the right direction. I think the best way to know if a salon is good, is by the products they are selling in their store..they sell Deva, which is a major , natural, curly hair care line and I was instantly at ease. (not to mention the atmosphere of the salon is completely relaxing) If you have been looking for a salon that specializes in curly hair, this is it. I never write reviews on salons, but this one is worth sharing.
