Aug 25, 2010 - Carlos has fixed the unfixable! I don’t know how he does it, but he is magic! My hair had been botched by a previous stylist. I found it impossible to manage. It was the last straw and I was at wit’s end. I was driving my husband crazy complaining. I didn’t know whether my hair was curly enough for a “curly cut,” or whether it really should be cut dry, but I knew that regular stylists just didn’t “get” my hair. I even stalked the corner of Broome and Crosby Streets opposite Devachan watching clients come out to check out their hair, hesitant and too fed up to ever set foot in a salon again. But I stopped in to the Mario Diab salon when Carlos was there, and I’m so glad I did. He spent a half hour showing me different things to do with my hair and explaining how to take care of it. He did not criticize at all. He then told me I didn’t need a haircut just yet and to come back in a couple of months! Carlos’ technique is different than anything I’ve experienced. Yes, he is quick. And he seems to cut so little: so little hair is left on the floor, but my hair is sooo much more manageable. I don't know what it would look like blown out and I don't care, because I never blow it out anyway. I think it will take more time and another cut to fix it 100% (and Carlos said I won’t need another cut for 6 months – finally a stylist who understands that my hair doesn’t need to be cut so often!). If I had to make one criticism, I would say that the hood dryer was too hot (which the assistant did adjust). But I am so looking forward to being able to grow my hair, and to my next cut with Carlos. Thank you Carlos!
