- Melaine Brown
Feb 10, 2011 - Finally! A devachan salon in the valley. No more going to L.A. No more going to the Bay. No more waiting for that trip to New York that never happens. No more whining about how there's no one who knows how to cut curly, kinky, crinkly Black, Asian, Latina, Pacific Islander (fill in the blank) hair in this desert. I went to Melanie. She was great! I first got my hair cut at Devachan in NYC and this is the best styling I've had since then. No, it's not NYC Devachan but Melanie is excellent. She listened to my concerns and she knew exactly what she was doing. I usually leave the salon and have to go home and wet my hair again because it looks like I stuck my finger in a socket (I'm not against looking like I stuck my finger in a socket but it's usually not in a good way)but Melanie uderstood how wet the hair needs to be when products are applied. I wish I could keep this place a secret but I want it to stay in business. Praise be to the hair goddess, and her name is Melanie.
