Organic Root Stimulator Curls Unleashed Take Command Curl Crème

Jun 23, 2013 - I got this on sale for $2 at Walgreens. It was on clearance. This product does not contain parabens but it contains silicones and dimethicones. However, it has some natural ingredients high up on the list, and it promised to define and elongate my curls. Elongation is my problem, because my hair shrinks up A LOT. I was pleased when this product actually did what it said it did. I used it in combo with Shea Moisture Shea Butter & Argan Oil Reconstructing Conditioner (a mistake since now whenever I use this conditioner it tends to leave my hair feeling greasy and coated) and some Jojoba Oil. I did a half-braid out and curled the ends with perm rods and loved my hair the next day. Defined, beautiful curls with ELONGATION, but the only problem was that my hair was left so, so, so weighed down and greasy feeling. I washed it out and tried again (minus Jojoba and instead using Say Yes! To Carrots Leave in Conditioner) and got the same results. This also seemed to increase my shedding. Every day that I would run my hands through my hair to give it more volume and break up the curls (I like the slightly frizzy, messed up look) I would find long, long strands of hair clinging to my greasy, residue replete hands. Gross. It seems like EVERYTHING is too heavy for my baby fine curls. I'm going to try the Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner as a styler and see if that works-otherwise i'll try to find ways to work with this because it is honestly the only thing that has given me results that i'm even slightly pleased with.

SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner

Apr 11, 2013 - This is the only Shea Moisture product that I like and use regularly. I was a bit hesitant to get it at first because of the way the other products from the lines (pink label and green label) have worked out (terribly) but I tried this one because it was on sale. And surprise of all surprises, I really like it. I use this as my rinse out and leave in conditioner, but when I use it as a leave in I also add Argan oil as a sealer. My hair gets very dry and it's extremely fine, so I can't use anything that's too heavy or else my hair will quickly become weighted down and I'll have to start all over from scratch. So I was pleased to discover that this is rather on the light side, and works well when combined with natural Argan oil. I really like the way it smells and I love the pump style. It also seems to do a really good job at keeping my constantly dry locks moisturized. All in all, a good product. I can't say much for the other products from the Shea Moisture line, however. This one and the Deep Treatment Masque (also in the gold label) are really the only two that seem to do anything beneficial for me. It's sad because the entire product line has such wonderful natural ingredients, yet fails to do anything for my hair.
