Jul 29, 2010 - I live about 45 minutes from Oasis and decided to try them based on the wonderful reviews here. They did not disappoint. They were very friendly on the phone when I made my appointment. When I arrived, they offered me tea and I went straight into the chair for a consultation. Wafaya's first words after introducing herself and welcoming me to the salon were "Your curls are beautiful. What would you like me to know about your hair?" This approach is crucial to a positive salon experience because my biggest fear is that someone will just start chopping without understanding my hair. Everything that I brought up was addressed during the appointment - from cutting my hair of many textures so that it all blended together to giving me ideas on how to keep my curls lively between washes. As Wafaya related her story of learning to love and appreciate her own curly mane, it was clear I was in the hands of someone who not only had the expertise, but who also had the understanding of what we as curlies deal with. My hair is looking great and feeling more hydrated than ever before. I will definitely be back for my next cut.
