Jul 20, 2012 - I, like most of the other reviewers, have struggled with my hair most of my life. No one knew how to cut it, or thought they knew how to cut it, and I became dependent on my blow dryer and straightener. Stylists never identified me as having curly hair - just thick, course, and a lot of it. After moving to the Hampton Roads area a couple years ago and receiving horrible hair cuts, I decided to let it grow out and let it air dry over the hot summer we have been experiencing. It always looked good wet, but once it was dry, it was a mess and I would put it in a scrunchie or a bun. I found Courtney on line after a waitress at a local restaurant told me she went to Rudy and Kelly's at another location. I started researching all the locations and happened upon Courtney as a curly hair specialist. I thought about making an appointment for weeks as I wasn't sure I really DID have curly hair. But, I finally took the plunge and am thrilled that I did. Not only was Courtney very warm and instantly likable, she understood exactly what all my complaints and worries were. She listened, explained what she was doing, taught me how to style my hair and "let my inner curls out." I love my curls - I have a lot of them - more than I thought! I hope I can stick with the new me and eventually toss my dryer and straightener. I will be a loyal client of Courtney's for as long as I am in Hampton Roads. I might add that the other stylists at R&K were engaged in my process and super friendly and supportive. All in all, a great experience. Sincerely - Elaine Z.
