Nov 05, 2012 - I can't believe this only has 3 curls. I have a lot of 3C hair and I was looking for something better than mousse to define my curls for more than a day--this is it. I applied it the same way as Wendi in the Mixed Chicks videos (I can't find it again, so I'll describe it). I rang my hair in the shower before applying. Then, I split it into four sections and worked in a bit less than a quarter-sized amount for each section, adding extra around my face. Normally, I use a ton of styling product, but I read reviews that this can get crunchy, so I proceeded with caution. When I worked it in, I repeatedly combed my fingers through each section, which distributed the product into the water in my hair and also got my curls in sync. Then I twisted the section I was working on until the extra water came out. At the end, I turned my head to the ground and scrunched my curls delicately and then let it air dry. Later I elongated my shorter curls with blow dryer on high heat and low air, focusing on the roots. Took 3 minutes. Great for shaping. This is by far the best my curls have ever looked. It's expensive, but you don't need to use a lot, even if you have a lot of hair like I do. I used this yesterday and I hardly wet my hair today and it looks great. Not at all crunchy and it doesn't smell like anything. (The leave-in conditioner in the bottle smells significantly less inviting than the awesome-smelling shampoo and conditioner.) I was considering a keratin treatment, but the stylist recommended that I could loosen my curl a little with the right product. He recommended this and I'm so glad I spent the money. No more trying new products and hoping.
