Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Styling Gel Extra Strong

Jun 02, 2014 - I found out the hard way this winter that, as I've aged, my curly hair has thinned and the curl pattern (formerly 3b)has changed. Unfortunately, the porosity hasn't, which means my spring frizz is still a problem. So, this gel for my (currently) 2c hair is perfect and I have once again get second day curls with just a moisture spritz. This stuff will be great until summer, when I'll have to try something new...and have to explain it to my husband!

DevaCurl Styling Cream

Dec 31, 2012 - Had high hopes for this curl cream, because I love most of the DevaCurl line, but this one is loaded with proteins (my hair hates them) and I ended up with dirty looking clumpy curls. Even using Wild Woozle Tiare Pommade after it dried, which normally fixes ANYTHING, couldn't fix this mess.

Curl Junkie BeautiCurls Argan and Olive Oil Daily Hair Conditioner

Dec 26, 2012 - I was going through my ever growing stash of products looking for something to use for a deep conditioner, a moisturizer without glycerin, silicone or protein (my hair HATES them) and came across this. I can't use this on a regular basis, but I thought, "why not". I used a clarify-er by AG Hair first then put this on and my heat cap for 45 minutes. WOW! Put the DevaCurl styler on as usual and great clumping curls with no frizz. I may just have found my once weekly deep conditioning treatment.

Tivon Salon and Spa - Blacksburg, Virginia, United States
Stylist:
Ana McRoberts

Jul 02, 2010 - I've used Ouidad products for years, but it's a bit like having the finest paints and throwing them on a sidewalk instead of a wonderful canvas, it just doesn't give the same result without the right haircut. So I anxiously awaited a stylist coming closer to my home here in SW Virginia. After driving forty-five minutes south to Blacksburg I met Ana, a Certified Ouidad Stylist and Master Colorist at Tivon Salon. What a change in my hair! She worked her magic, both with scissors and products. The results were immediate. The Ouidad cut is more expensive than other salon haircuts, but I only have to get it once every three months which is cost effective in the long run! Making the trip on a routine basis to keep my hair happy will be a pleasure. Vive Le Curl

Divinity Lifestyle Spa Salon - Roanoke, Virginia, United States
Stylist:
Alex Puglisi

Feb 28, 2009 - After years with another area stylist, I'm jumping ship. I've found someone who not only knows how to cut curly hair, but knows ABOUT curly hair. All the things I thought I knew about my hair texture (it's actually coarse), or about where it's really curly (more on top--not underneath) he explained! I learned new ways to style it at home, and I was able to actually do this the next day by myself. Hallelujah!!

The Hair Gallery - Daleville, Virginia, United States
Stylist:
Carma

May 08, 2008 - After reading the review about Carma, I decided to give The Hair Gallery a try. What a great surprise! Stylists who listen to women with curly hair and their many requests are few and far between. Carma is one of them. I left with a great cut I get compliments on and can maintain at home. Thanks!
