DevaCurl Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam

Oct 05, 2011 - I had high hopes for this, since I love AG Volumizing Foam, but this does not compare. Using varying amounts, it didn't add any shine to my hair or control the floofy-ness as well. Every DevaCurl product, except the B'Leave In, seems to have the same effect on my hair no matter how I apply and style - coated and dull. Besides the AG Foam, Bumble and Bumble's Curl Conscious Holding Foam works better. I was so disappointed I returned this to Ulta.

DevaCurl B'Leave-In

Oct 05, 2011 - This is the only DevaCurl styling product that doesn't leave my hair feeling coated and frizzy, but like the others it also doesn't have as much hold as I like. I'm in the mood for softer curls these days, so this is a good product for keeping my 2b head that way. My curls are soft and feel moisturized. My hair is what I call "floofy" and I just wish this compacted the curls a little more, especially in the back. Otherwise, this is definitely the best DevaCurl styling product for me. I've tried AnGel, ArcAngel, Set Me Up, Mirror Curls, and the new volumizing foam mousse. All of those left my hair with the odd combination of producty-feeling, yet dull.

Kinky-Curly Curling Custard

Oct 05, 2011 - I found this product to be just okay, nothing miraculous, but a decent gel. I used as recommended, slathering a glop on very wet hair, and I diffuse dry about 15 minutes later. The first time I used very little, probably about a quarter-sized amount and it was pretty bad - my hair was stringy, frizzy and generally 'blah.' The second time I used A LOT of the product and that seemed to work better. I had hoped to get clumpier waves and curls, this still keeps most of my head pretty stringy. I think I'm 2b with the occasional big ringlet curl showing up.

Curls Rock Hair Studio - Boca Raton, Florida, United States
Stylist:
Katrina

Apr 06, 2012 - I have wavy/some Botticelli curls and lots of fine hair. My hair is generally between my chin and shoulders, and I tend to like short and sassy cuts with lots of volume. Katrina gave me exactly what I wanted, although I think I was more willing to go shorter than she was! She cut my hair dry, then after it was wet, and then again after she styled it. She was very laid back and didn't push any products. The woman who had an appointment before me left with a head of beautiful ringlets (probably 3b/3c), two women with very tight curls (4s) came in with gorgeous heads of hair, another with waves brought her friend with very thin hair wanting to bring out her curl to make an appointment, and a woman with very frizzy, small ringlets made an appointment right before I was taken. The atmosphere was nice and friendly. The cut was $75, but if you mention the coupon on her website you get 20% off your first visit. Since I consider my hair an important accessory I wear everyday, I am okay spending that much to get what I want. I don't know if Naturally Curly will let this post, but the website has changed and is now: http://www.curlsrockhairstudio.com

D. Cole Hair Design - Sarasota, Florida, United States
Stylist:
Colette (sp?)

Jul 04, 2008 - I just moved down here and another curly-haired girl at work recommended Dylon Cole, the owner of the salon, but he wasn't available for a few weeks. I asked Colette what she would do if I told her told her she could do whatever she wanted - and she described exactly what I was hoping for and what looks best on me. She did a fantastic job and made my fine, frizzy, long hair into shorter, sassy, voluminous, big curls that frame my face better. She was also very friendly and the salon is a nice space.
