Jun 22, 2014 - I have very thick 4c hair that typically reverts back when I straighten it even when utilizing the Chase method with my flat iron. I love this product to straighten my hair naturally. The key is to follow the directions exactly, too many times people will add in their own products or alter the order of the steps but if you follow the directions it will work. I was a little nervous because the shampoo truly dried out my hair but when I put in the leave in the key is to comb your hair about every 5 minutes during the process period. And honestly the amount of leave in conditioner is more than enough for 2-3 applications. Seriously less is more. I parted my hair into 6 sections for ease of application and for ease of blow drying. And combing your hair during the waiting period allows your hair to be evenly coated. When you wash your hair with the products you can use the conditioner as a leave in - based on the packaging directions. I am currently 2 1/2 weeks out and I still get the same results as the initial day I used the product. Of course the next times that I straightened I used a heat protectant. However the first time you use the system, it has to be understood, the treatment is heat activated. Only take pieces of hair about 1-1 1/2 inches and run your flat iron over it once, detangle and comb the piece, and then flat iron it again this time using the chase method. This is the first time since I cut out relaxers that my hair has been this straight without reversion. I will say that Shea moisture also came out with a straightening system I will try it out after I wash out this treatment, but I would definitely recommend it to my 4C thick haired sisters. As long as you don't deviate from the directions on the initial treatment.
