Jane Carter Solution Nourish & Shine

Oct 31, 2012 - I got a travel pack to sample all JC products. I wanted to reinvigorate my 8th day hair (yes 8th day hair, lol), so I steamed it with a little conditioner in the shower as usual, added a dime sized amount of KCCC to my hair and then sealed with this (the package recommended it as a sealer). It is a little hard to spread even when I warmed/rubbed it in between my hands. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised, by curls are alive again. I have this spot in the center/back area of my head that tends to get matted easily and I put some extra on there and it softened/separated the curls so that it no longer feels matted. The smell is pretty strong in that I can smell it on my head which I usually cannot with other products, so if you are sensitive to smell, this might not be for you. I will have to try it a few more times because I have a hair/body butter that I love (Alaffia's Africa's Secret) that is odorless and goes on a lot smoother, but I think I will take this travel sized one with me on trips and have no issues using it as an alternate hair/body butter.

Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner

Oct 31, 2012 - This brand is something I will put in/out of rotation because it is consistent and not too pricey. My issue is the bottle is small so I run out quicker than I would like. I LOVE the smell. It is not super slippery, but it gives me enough slip to detangle. I don't find it to be too heavy, in fact I find it pretty light. I like their conditioners for cowashing. I typically buy this for my hubby, who has 3A-ish hair and doesn't require expensive products and it does a great job keeping his hair shiny and soft in between shampoos.

Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercreme

Oct 31, 2012 - I have a sample size thank goodness. This stuff is heavy and greasy. I like the baby smell, but I just don't see this being for me. My hair can accept heavy products, but this is too greasy and not easy to spread. I could only see it really working on a really poufy afro.

Stylist:
Heather

Nov 23, 2009 - Heather has done such amazing things with my hair, time and time again. I have a ton of very, very curly hair. I have a hard time classifying, but I would say a mixture of 3c/3b? Every cut she has done for me has been outstanding from longer shaped look, to mini fros, to curly bobs. I moved here from NYC years ago and my hair was suffering because I was having a hard time finding a place for my hair. I have been rejected from salons before because of stylists not knowing how to handle my curls so I very cautious of where I go. Heather just embraces cutting my hair. I can honestly say I have not once been dissatisfied. Usually what I do is go have her cut it and then I go home and wet it and use my product and style the curls myself. I just went and chopped my hair off last week. I gave her some pictures of Eva Pigford/Marcelle and she did it to a "T" I loooove it! It looks great both straight and curly now. They also have the best colorist in Milwaukee, so it is a one-stop shop.
