Curls Cashmere Curl Jelly

Mar 22, 2015 - I wanted to try something other than the Kinky Curly Custard and bought this. It's certainly slicker than the KCCC. I liked it overall. It did feel luxurious in my hair. I found it gave just the right moisture for my 3b/3c curls, and it does give and added "depth." I could probably use this to slick my hair back if I wanted. Defined my curls, but didn't really give it the added length. I don't think any product is going to lengthen your hair that you let air dry. I put this over their curling lotion. Overall I was very pleased with this. I love this jelly texture. No flaking. I think I still prefer my KCCC over this due to the ingredients, but this jelly isn't as couple dependent (I don't have to use other products to make it work). Tames the frizz, but only for the first few days. I would give this 3.5 if I could, but it is round up worthy.

Miss Jessie's Multicultural Curls

Mar 22, 2015 - I am pleasantly surprised by this product. Watching this come out I was thinking, "this is gonna weigh my hair down," but it didn't. I have multi-cultural hair and it did everything the product said it was going to do. I used it as a leave-in while my hair was wet and followed with Curls Cashmere Curl Jelly. I didn't have any residue. The amodimethicone in this product is one of the lighter silicones, but it doesn't seem to have the other ingredients that would make it water-soluble, meaning you can't just co-wash your hair alone if you were to incorporate this into a shampooless regimen.

Miss Jessie's Curly Buttercreme

Mar 22, 2015 - I would have given this 2 instead of three, but I took into account that this might work really well for thicker kinkier curlies. My curls are fine and less dense. I should have known using a product where there are petrolatum and mineral oil in the first 5 main ingredients. But this is Miss Jessie's so I let them slide. Wrong move! I used it as a leave in and worked it in my hair while wet and air dried. Was my hair soft? Yes. It was also greasy, and overdefined. I put my fingers in my hair and and can still feel the grease on my fingers. Miss Jessie why are you using these ingredients in high end products?? This product would probably be good for the extremely dense, thick curl pattern that's really gonna weigh your hair down. This is not a universal curly product. I would never buy this product again. I did like the peppermint smell. The cooling effect is stimulating but because of the greasiness I can't get that anywhere near my scalp.
