Naturalicious Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Tretament (Kinky/Coily Edition)

Aug 10, 2014 - Clay bandwagon? I'm on it! This stuff literally did everything it claimed it could do! 1) Cleanse - a week's worth of creams, gels and spritzes? Done! 2) Condition - made my hair soft and shiny? Check! 3) Detangle - if you work quickly enough in those 5-10 min, maybe (I did detangle, but not my usual thorough detangling), so we'll say, "Sorta!" 4) Deep Condition - hair was soft and shiny (my black hair appeared blacker and stronger than usual), Yup! 5) Leave-In Conditioner - sorta! Hair was moisturized enough that I just started my regular styler routine right after. I am kind of slow when I work with my hair in first 4 sections, then break those 4 down into 5 parts, so the "leave-in" properties evaporated in sections 2-4 before I could put cream or oil on top. Still, I LOVED that I didn't need to use a Detangler + Shampoo/Clarify/Cleanser + (Deep) Conditioner! This is great if you're on vacation or on the go, I think. Apply this, shower your body for 5 min, rinse it out, style and go! You should really not let this dry too much. Also, you need to rinse quite well or you're going to have little sand bits here and there.

L`Oreal Paris EverCurl Hydracharge Cleansing Conditioner

Aug 09, 2014 - It smelled okay and cleaned my hair and scalp, but my hair was so awfully DRY. I felt like I was using rubbing alcohol on my strands. It took loads of conditioner to get my hair pliable again. Even then, my hair felt bristle-y and stripped. I tried to make it work twice, but in the end, I am using the leftover to clean my shower floor because it's a great surfactant and cleaner...I do not think this is meant for coily curls.

III Sisters of Nature Curling Gelo

Jul 26, 2014 - I am never going to use any other gel for holding! Wow, wow, wow! I get amazing hold and a little bit of "hang time" with my hair when I use this. My hair is actually bouncy with this gel in it when I do a twist out. I have used it in conjunction with Shea Moisture's Curling Soufflé, Shea Moisture's Shine & Moisture Mist, Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Spray Leave-in Conditioner (to tone down the III Sister's Curling Gelo overpowering florally candy-pop scent) and Coconut Oil. Not once did this gel leave any white residue on my hair. I love, love, love this. My hair is soft to the touch and even when I layered this product on during the work week, I didn't experience any buildup or awful itching. I would give it 5 stars if the scent wasn't so strongly saccharine-punched up. EDIT: I re-bought this in another version which has the additional ingredients of Polyquaternium 10, PEG 14, Polysorbate 20, Sage, Chamomile extract, Bay laurel extract, and Fragrance. While the fake fragrance is less intense than the previously overly sweet one, it's a stinky imitation of the Kinky Curly Curling Custard. More upsettingly, my hair feels crispy and dry with this now. It is definitely not "soft to the touch" like before. It builds up on my hair such that I cannot just re-wet and moisturize. I have to wash this off and do the whole shebang. I can only get 2 days' use out of this version, where I was getting 4-5 before.
