Jul 15, 2010 - I came to the Oasis salon two months ago after a friend recommended it for curly hair. It was easy to book an appointment that fit my schedule. I had been a devotee of Lorraine Massey's Curly Girl philosophy and Deva Curl products for nearly seven years, with no realistic hope of getting a "curly girl" cut, since the DevaChan salon is in Soho. When she started shaping my hair with the scissors, she was careful to tell me what she was doing, and how it would change the shape and quality of my curls. I saw an immediate difference in my hair, even before it was washed and set. While my hair was drying, I was able to hear Mimi working with another new client, and introducing her to the "curly girl" cutting and styling method. Mimi was patient and understanding with the client's initial misgivings and was able to quickly put her at ease. The next appointment was better than the last, and I am confident that the unsolicited compliments that I get on my hair will continue as long as my curls are in Mimi's care.
