Jun 27, 2011 - I had an interesting experience here. I just recently moved to the Rockville area and was looking for a new permanent salon that could handle my curly hair. After doing some research online, I thought this place looked like a reasonable choice. I called to make my appointment a week beforehand, and also noted on the phone that I wanted a cut and color. I was having friends in for the weekend, so it was excited to be able to get an appointment. I arrived and my stylist, Raena, was already ready to leave. She gave me a half-a$$ hair cut, and told me she would rather not do color because she has to go soon, etc. She told me to come in during the week, but I have a job and cannot go until after 6. Then she tried to push highlights. I was okay with some high lights. To make matters worse, she Raena left while my hair was drying, so when I finally got to see the color - she wasn't even there. Maybe this was a good thing. It all goes uphill from here. I went back two days later, Yolanda made such an effort to make sure it was right this time. She mixed my color, and also instructed the young Asian girl (Wafaya I think) on how far down to dye it, etc. Yolanda was super nice about the whole thing, and so was Wafaya. My hair ended up turning out pretty good - its got a nice goldish brown color to it, and I am happy with it. I think I will go back in awhile, but I am going to request Yolanda next time. I would advise against Raena. Thank you Yolanda and Wafaya!
