Apr 16, 2013 - I had high hopes for this product based on the reviews from this site, but it came up short. I've been looking for something to replace Redken's Soft Spin as it's being discontinued. What I liked about that product was that I could work it through wet hair and let it air dry. All I needed to do was fluff it a bit throughout the day to get volume, but it held down the frizzies, especially in problem areas (top and around forehead). I ran Kinky-Curly through my hair and immediately knew it wasn't going to hold. When my hair was mostly dry, I walked out into the NYC wind and it was all over. By the time I came home, it looked as if I hadn't used anything. There were certain areas that held more than I was expecting (they looked a bit crunchy, though) and other areas that were not calmed down at all, even though I applied it evenly. Worst of all, the top of my head was wildly out of control. This is simply not strong enough, plus it is expensive. Back to the drawing board!
