Oct 10, 2011 - The first time I went to see Anson I went in for a cut and thin. I get the same hair cut no matter where I go and it really isn't that complicated. It just takes someone who understands curly hair to be able to do it. On this trip I thought he did a pretty good job of reading my curls and cutting them into a nice style. He cut me dry which I really liked. The only issue I had was that I specifically said I need to be able to pull it into a pony tail since I was about to have a baby and would need the convenience. He did not listen. He cut it right at my jawline. However, I was really pleased with the shape of my hair so I decided to go back again. Well, I shouldn't have. The second cut was probably the worst hair cut I have ever had. I will admit that I was running late for the hair cut (I had just had a baby 10 days prior and was running around trying to get a cut before my mom left me alone with the baby). He seemed to be a little disgruntled about me being late. The hair cut looked as if he had never cut curly hair before. I can hardly describe everythign that was wrong with this hair cut. He started by first cutting the length and then put in one layer. Just one and it say right at my ear line. When I told him that I would also like to have it thinned out. He put the hair on top of my head into a rubber band and randomly jabbed his scissors into my hair and snipped. He did somethign similar to the length of my hair too. I have never seen this method before and hope to never see it again.
I am not sure how a stylist can get either 1 scissors or 5 scissors. It appears that his clients either love him or hate him. I have to wonder if he just gets in cranky moods and they impact his hair cutting. Regardless, I am not willing to roll the dice and chance another cut with him. It has taken 3 haircuts and 8 months to recover from what he did to my head.
