When I first went natural, I had several products that were my heavy hitters, or so I thought. I knew these products worked well for me, so I didn’t venture off and try new products too often. When I found what worked for me I would stick with that product. The question I have for you is, have you ever cheated on your favorite hair product and found a new one that you liked better? I have a confession to tell you, I cheated on my favorite shampoo, and I loved every moment.

I will admit that I found my staple products quite early on my natural hair journey. One of my favorite shampoos when I first went natural was Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo. I used this shampoo every wash day, and I was attached to it. It made my hair very moisturized and left it feeling clean and healthy. I know you are probably wondering why I decided to try a new shampoo even though I thought I had found the “one” right? Well, it’s plain and simple, I love trying new products, and sometimes change is good. In this case, I just happened to find a shampoo that I liked a little better than the one I was using. Here are a few reasons why I decided to test out a new product and ended up loving it in the end.

Hair Changes

My hair has changed several times during my natural hair journey which prompted me to test new products from time to time. Some of the products that worked on my hair during my transition don’t work the same on my hair now. After I had my baby, my hair texture completely changed and I had to start switching up products. I started with my shampoo, and I ended up loving the new shampoo that I tried out. My new shampoo choice that is now one of my staples is Design Essentials Almond & Avocado Shampoo.

Why I loved my new shampoo choice

My first shampoo staple will always hold a place near and dear to my heart, but sometimes it’s ok to switch it up and try new products. If you fall in love with your new choice that’s ok too. I love my new shampoo because it works well on my hair. I was able to detangle my hair with just the shampoo. That is major for me. My hair gets tangled quickly. I can tell if a product works well for me when I use it consistently, and I achieve the same results each time. I get the same results each time I use Design Essentials Almond and Avocado Shampoo, so it is now a staple of mine.

Change is Good!

Sometimes it’s good to re-evaluate your hair products and determine which products work best and which ones may need to be replaced. You might end up replacing the one you thought would be your go to forever. Don’t fret, though. It’s perfectly ok to change products. In fact, change is good! Keeping a variety of products in your stash is good. Just in case you run out of something, you know that you will always have a backup product that works well.

Have you cheated on the “one” product that you thought you would love forever?
