My hair and skin enjoyed the sunny days of summer. The curls were popping and my contour was glowing thanks to some trusty products.

1. Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker

My friend recommended this product to me after hearing my countless complaints about my frizz. Now, I use the product as a sealer and do not experience loss of curl definition. This amazing product is applicable for all curl types and the fragrance is not too strong.

Was it worth it?

In the Netherlands, we pay approximately 28 dollars for the product, and I still think it’s worth the price.

A similar product type is the Ecostyler Gel; however, the I think there is a difference in quality.

2. Camille Rose Naturals Curlaide Moisture Butter

Transitioners and different types of curls will love the green tea and jojoba mixture.

I remember looking through the Camille Rose section trying to find a butter that could meet all my requirements. My hair tends to lose moisture quickly and thus I was searching for a product that could combat dryness and retain moisture. I apply this product after applying the leave-in conditioner and before applying the curl maker.

Was it worth it?

Considering the benefits that my curls gain after applying the product, I would say that it is definitely worth the price ($16 on NaturallyCurly“>.

You can buy the coconut curling cream by Cantu Naturals if you do not have the budget, which I’ve been able to achieve similar results with.

3. SheaMoisture Grow, Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner

One of the main ingredients is Jamaican Black Castor Oil. Believe me…it made my hair grow!

My hair is very prone to breakage because I highlight the ends from time to time. Therefore, I was searching for a curly hair product that would strengthen my hair and encourage its growth. I found the solution in this product. To emphasize its effect I would like to share that my nails also grew noticeably.

Was it worth it?

I think it is worth the money; however, if you cannot afford purchasing it you could gain similar benefits by applying Jamaican Black Castor Oil to your hair.

4. SheaMoisture Curl & Shine Conditioner

Say bye bye to those horrible knots! The more my hair grows the more difficult it is to detangle. Sometimes I used to get a headache after a wash day, but not anymore. This conditioner has great slip, which makes the detangling process run smoothly.

Before applying the product to my hair, I divide my hair into four sections. I apply a generous amount of product to each section and finger-detangle my hair.

Was it worth it?

To be honest, not really because there are also other conditioners that achieve the same effect, such as Crème of Nature  Moisture Extreme Conditioner.

5. Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder

Does your face shine brighter than a diamond because of your foundation? Replace your foundation with this magic powder to keep your skin matte (unless of course, you like a glowy finish”>.

The innovative feature of this product is that it is both a foundation and compact powder. When I was wearing the product without my foundation my friends commented that it looked natural.  The powder lasts throughout the day; however, if you have very oily skin you might need to apply more after your lunch break.

Was it worth it?

I have a combined skin type, which makes it almost impossible to wear foundation during summer. Besides, I leave fingerprints all over the place…the FBI will find me easily. This unique powder prevents these inconveniences and therefore it is worth the price.

6. Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body

This highlighter will make your cheekbones shine almost brighter than the sun!

No, I am not exaggerating! After buying a few disappointing highlighters I finally found the perfect one. I bought the powder three months ago and I have only one complaint: even though it reflects perfectly, it disappears by mid-afternoon. This means that I have to touch up my makeup after my lunch break – which is not ideal.

This product is perfect for anyone who loves to accentuate their cheekbones. It suits all skin types, but I would not recommend it for oily skin because it is already shiny. As far as I am aware, there are no dupes close to this one. If you know of a good dupe then you should definitely let us know by dropping a comment!

7. MAC Cosmetics Mehr Lipstick

This color matches every skin color!

It is a gentle, pink color that is perfect for both summer and winter. I will warn you though, this lipstick doesn’t have staying power: after eating and drinking it mostly disappears.

I would recommend this lipstick to those who love to wear bold eye make-up with an understated lip. Unfortunately, I haven’t come across a lipstick that would be the perfect dupe for the shade.
