Summer break is officially here and protective styles are in full effect!

A simple bunhawk + gold accessories

This is the perfect opportunity to share this fun bunhawk look Taylor (model”> & I created using EDEN BodyWorks Kids products. In this tutorial, you will get step-by-step instructions, product suggestions, and a detailed video tutorial.

Styles like a bunhawk are what I like to call, a “transition style”, or one that can be transitioned into several other styles.

Styles like this are a must, especially during the busy school year.

Starting this style on clean hair is very important if you do plan on changing the look in the days to come. EDEN BodyWorks has a COCO Shea Berry Natural Detangler Shampoo that smells amazing and has ingredients that are even better! This shampoo is very gentle and infused with a plethora of essential oils. When we use this shampoo, Taylor’s type 4A strands immediately feel softer, clean (without that stripped feeling”>, moisturized, and easy to detangle. We also feel comfortable using other EDEN BodyWorks products to condition or deep condition as needed. Our favorite collection is the Coconut Shea line.

The kids collection does have a leave-in product, COCO Shea Berry Natural Leave-In Detangler. There’s a fresh scent of strawberries, and it literally melts stubborn tangles away! We also use this to refresh Taylor’s strands as needed in between washes. It’s a light formula but the results are mind blowing. I’ve noticed less frizz and longer lasting styles since using this product.

How get the #EDENKids Bunhawk: Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1: Section hair with a wide tooth comb.

Once the hair is clean, conditioned, and detangled it’s time to start styling.

Starting from the back, make a straight part from ear to ear. The ears will be your focal point for each part/ponytail. Pictured above is the first section.

Step 2: Add styling creme + detangle.

Next, add the styling creme which is EDEN BodyWorks COCO Shea Berry Curly Creme. Words cannot express how extraordinary this product is: The formula is perfection and I even use it on my hair. As soon as it’s applied you will see the magic happen. Curls will immediately POP, strands will shine to the heavens, and it will remain that way!

Detangling during each step saves you more time, in the end, believe it or not. I think it’s important to do so during shampooing, conditioning, and styling. During this step, it is much easier because we are working in small/medium sections. The brush we are using is the Felicia Leatherwood Detangler Brush.

Step 3: Secure hair into a ponytail.

This step is easy! Once the hair is detangled, smooth strands into a ponytail and secure it with an elastic hair band.

Step 4: Two strand twist set the hair.

Now that this section is secured simply do a two strand twist and twirl the ends.

Step 5: Bun it.

Twirl the two strand twist into a bun.

Step 6: Bobby pin.

Secure the bun with a bobby pin. Repeat all these steps for each ponytail. The COCO Shea Berry Curly Creme can be used to smooth the edges too or you can use the COCO Shea Berry Smoothing Gel. For a stronger hold try out Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Control Edge Glaze.

Final look: BunHawk!

The final look should have 4-5 buns in line with each other to form a Bunhawk!

Want to add a unique touch to this already amazing style? Use gold bobby pins and criss-cross them on every other section.
