The Madam CJ Walker Hair Care and Styling collection was created for phenomenal women like you. Its namesake is steeped in the rich history of the one and only, Madam CJ Walker.

“As the first woman to become a self-made millionaire,” according to The Philanthrophy Roundtable, Walker “ranks among the greatest African-American philanthropists in the nation’s history."

To further the legacy, the Madam CJ Walker collection was created with scalp and hair health in mind. As a result, us curlies of the world get several lines of products for daily healthy hair maintenance and styling.

With the help of fellow NaturallyCurly Editors, I'm going to show you how to style your hair in 3 simple steps using products in this Madam CJ Walker-sponsored post!

The right type of product, in the right order and from the right line, is essential when building a maintenance and styling regimen for healthy curls.

The new Madam CJ Walker collection features color coded lines that cater to your specific curl needs:

  • Dream Come True (lavender) - strengthen strands!
  • Tame Frizz (teal) - control those curls!
  • Maximize Moisture (lemon) - maintain the mane!

No. 1 - Condition those Curls

The Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Dream Come True Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque is just that: a dream come true for all hair types that need extra tender love and care.

This paraben-, phthalate-, and sulfate-free masque delivers nourishment to my scalp and 4C coils, making them manageable prior styling.

Oh - I almost forgot to mention that this masque smells gooooood! Its white flower and warm vanilla scent will have you smelling divine and feeling relaxed.

How To Use The Dream Come True Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque:

After you’ve cleansed your coils with a co-wash or shampoo, section your hair with your fingers or a wide tooth comb. Then apply the masque to each section.

If you’re a messy deep conditioning applier, (ahem) like me, make sure all of your coils are covered and your ends are saturated.

You’re going to leave the masque on your hair for at least 15 minutes, covering it with a shower cap.

When time is up, rinse the masque out and style those coils!

It’s suggested that you use the deep conditioning masque at least once a week to reap its benefits, but that might be impossible.

Because as mentioned the masques's scent is heavenly, it’s packed full of scalp nourishing B5 vitamins and willow oil and coconut oil, and wants to hydrate your coils shea butter on the reg.

Additionally, your hair's improved health will be noticeable. This is the perfect masque for all hair types, but especially for those of us that suffer from dry, damaged, or color-treated tresses.

No. 2 - Moisturize those Curls

One of the major goals for fellow NaturallyCurly Editor Cristina is keeping frizz at bay while adding luster to her ebullient 2C waves.

She's found a new way to do both, thanks to Madam CJ Walker's Beauty Culture Frizz Fighting Coconut & Moringa Oil Curl Defining Milk and Scent & Shine Coconut Oil.

The milk is formulated with all the ingredients your curls love: shine boosting coconut oil, rejuvenating moringa oil, frizz fighter extraordinaire jojoba, and the mother of all moisturizers shea butter.

Bonus Fact: this milk is alway time-release formulated to keep flyaways and frizz waves and curls in check!

How To Use The Frizz Fighting Coconut & Moringa Oil Curl Defining Milk:

Cristina applied the curl defining milk to clean waves. Her application was focused on the ends of her hair.

With a wide tooth comb, the curl defining milk can be combed through waves from the ends all the way up to the scalp.

To ensure your waves don't succumb to poofing, style them with your fingers.

By using this method, you'll actually see a difference in the health of your waves. Like Cristina, you will have added softness, hints of sweet vanilla and woods, and a hearty boost of moisture to your gorgeous waves.

Now, it's time to top it off with the Scent & Shine Coconut Oil!

How to Use Scent & Shine Coconut Oil:

To define your waves and curls, the Scent & Shine Coconut Oil needs to be in your life.

As demonstrated by Cristina (above), pump the oil into your hands and work through the waves. Your hair will be shiny and left smelling absolutely divine.

Don't be shy about reapplying the oil throughout the day - it's an excellent refresher!

Bonus Tip: for the deepest of deep conditioning treatments, add a small amount of the oil to the Dream Come True Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque.

Needless to say, Cristina's waves looked effortlessly chic after both of these nourishing products were applied.

No. 3 - Style those Curls

NaturallyCurly Graphic Designer Fran has ridiculously pretty 3B curls. They are always styled and visibly healthy.

How could they possibly get any more envy-inducing?

Just add Madam CJ Walker Beauty Culture's Jamaican Black Castor & Murumuru Oils Ultra-Moisturizing Detangler and Defining Butter Crème.

The secret to Fran's detangling success is as follows...

How to Use the Jamaican Black Castor & Murumuru Oils Ultra-Moisturizing Detangler:

Fran gently applied the detangler to her lengthy curls.

Using her fingers to work in the detangled, Fran was able to add slip to her curls. This allowed her to easily detangle her hair while adding softness and moisture.

Just like Frizz Fighting Coconut & Moringa Oil Curl Defining Milk, this detangler boasts a time-release activation that manages the moisture level of your curls and coils even while they're styled to perfection.

As a champion of Jamaican Black Castor oil and its coily hair benefits, I believe you're going to love how your curls and coils will feel at the end of your busy days (I know I do - all that moisture is amazing to feel and see).

Murmur oil is an emollient that coats and seals your curls' with vitamins while adding a pop of shine!

Phew! Does it get better?

Take a deep breath because yes, my friend, it does!

How to Use Madam C.J. Walker Jamaican Black Castor & Murumuru Oils Defining Butter Crème:

For best results, you'll want to use this defining butter crème after you've conditioned or co-washed your hair.

Use a wide tooth comb or your fingers to section wet or damp hair.

Squeeze a liberal amount of the defining butter crème into your hands and apply to the sections.

On those wash-and-go styles, use the aforementioned method. Then, gently blot curls and coils with your favorite hair towel and scrunch the ends of your hair. Air dry or diffuse to style.

With its elegant scent, the Madam C.J. Walker Jamaican Black Castor & Murumuru Oils Defining Butter Crème will add that extra je ne sais quoi to your style!

Bonus Tip: This butter crème can be used to refresh and revive curls, as demonstrated by Fran (above), and made into a heavenly moisturizer by adding Jamaican Black Castor Oil.
