Introduce yourself!

Hi I’m Russ from Atlanta, and I am an artist.

I started growing my hair out about two and a half years ago. I was always trying to grow it out when I was younger in middle school and stuff but my mom would always make me cut it.

There’s gonna come a time where you hair starts to fall out. So till then, let it be wild.

Tell us about your hair journey

That middle stage was awkward where it’s not long and it’s not short, but the journey definitely been rewarding. Commitment and patience is real. Want to know the secret to my perfect hair? Aight, I’ll drop one. Redken Curvaceous. I’m going to need sponsorship now though, haha.

Editor’s note: Several of our NaturallyCurly editors love Redken Curvaceous too. The Ringlet Perfecting Lotion and the Full Swirl cream gel have earned Holy Grail status for some of us. Watch Cristina’s review here. This is not a sponsored plug.

What is your biggest inspiration?

Honestly my potential and knowing how anything is possible is what inspires me the most.

What are your future goals?

And my future goals? Everything. Biggest artist ever in the world. I wanna play one game in the NBA too. I have a mean 3 pointer.

Advice for other curly guys?

My advice to another guy who isn’t confident wearing their hair long and curly? Honestly, do you and don’t give a f**k about what people think. There’s gonna come a time where you hair starts to fall out. So till then, let it be wild.

Where can we keep up with you?

My Twitter and IG is @russdiemon and my Facebook is Facebook.com/russtheone–thank you!
