11 memorable street style looks from NYFW featuring natural hair
New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is a bi-annual event showcasing the latest fashion designs from established and up and coming designers, but one of the most notable aspects of NYFW is happening off the runways: street style. Here are 11 unforgettable NYFW street style looks featuring natural hairstyles.
I personally love a head-to-toe monochrome look, but what makes this one special are the mix of textures and unique accessories. The matching set from Ulla Johnson is a look on its own, and mixing in the tiny crossbody bag with multicolored green stones, silver jewelry and a textured top upgrades this fit to a new level. What makes this fit truly unforgettable though, is of course, the hair. A perfect mix of classic straight backs with a twist (literally), mirrors the elegance and intricate details that make the outfit so special.

I love how the box braids blend with the sunglasses, boots, and yellow coat to give this look a cohesive feel from head-to-toe. Long skirts and tall boots have been trending all year, and this take on the feminine style goes even bolder with the fur accents, mix of fabrics, and pops of color.

Classic waist-length box braids, a monochrome blue patterned floral fit and purse from Carolina Herrera, and a blue fur coat are perfectly matched with silver jewelry and simple makeup. Another great example of how to do monochrome but make it your own.

An extra long fishtail braid really gives this look the wow factor, but it’s matched closely by the futurist sunglasses and gaudy accessories. The orange outfit pairs beautifully with the multicolored and reddish toned braids and is the perfect example of how your hair can make or break the whole outfit. IYKYK!

Black box braids and a blue fit are truly a match made in heaven. Another monochrome look makes this list, but in blue and put together completely differently. This street style look makes monochrome feel bold and new with knee high bright blue boots and bold gold accessories.

Sophia Roe rocking her natural curls and iconic curly bangs before the Rodarte show. I love the casualness of an oversized blue tshirt dress mixed with the formal pearl earrings and accessories. Sophia truly made this look her own, while showing off her beautiful natural hair.

I mean, the epitome of joy and ease in an outfit. From the patterned multicolored jacket and messy updo, to the white long slit dress that show off knee high cut out shoes, this look is all about mixing patterns, colors, and simplicity with complexity. This subtle yet over-the-top style is exactly why people are so obsessed with street style.

I’m such a sucker for straight backs and a classic silhouette. This style features so many classics together to make a truly stunning look. The guest wears large gold hoops, a black turtleneck pullover, a black leather oversized coat, burgundy pants, and black ankle boots outside of the Coach show.

Another fantastic green hat, this time mixed with pink and with a whole lot of volume. This guest stuns in a bright pink and green outfit, including green knee high boots and pairs the overstated colors and look with classic pearl accessories. The whole look comes together with her beautiful dark curly hair that pairs perfectly with the volume of the hat and coat.

Topping off the list with a favorite casual street style look. At first glance, this might look like an ordinary outfit, but after further investigation it’s clear this is cool girl NYC street style at its best. What I love about this outfit is the expertise in mixing casual, classic, and trendy items together, and of course the forever cool girl curly hightop/bob and a bold red lip. Consider me influenced, because I’m honestly trying to figure out how I can pull this look off with what I already have in my closet.
