My go-to lazy day hairstyle is a very important hairstyle to me because I rock it at least once a week in between washes.

Easy to create and protective of curly hair, this style is perfect for days when there is no time for refreshing in the mornings. Here’s what I do to my type 3C curls on lazy–or busy–days.

1. Create a middle parting and section your hair in 2 halves.

Focus on one side first by tying one away from your face.

2. Detangle and shape the section using a Denman brush.

Apply gel to your edges to smooth the hair in place and prep it for styling. Grab a hairband and smooth the hair back for a sleek finish.

3. Twist the section tightly until the hair begins to naturally fall into a bun.

Use a circular motion, securing with a hairband.

4. Repeat with the other section.

Set your edges by tying a satin scarf around your head for 5 to 10 minutes.

5. Release the scarf and voila!

You have smooth, shiny edges and an easy to rock, lazy–or busy–day curly hairstyle.

Why it should be your go-to…

Simple and effective, this simple hairstyle once perfected can be done in around 5 to 10 minutes and is versatile. As for the rest of the week, try joining the 2 buns together to create a single large bun, two braids, or even a low ponytail. This is my in-between go-to style because it tucks away my curls, leaving me no worries about frizz or needed to re-define my hair.

What’s your go-to style for lazy or busy days?
