The use of hemp in cosmetics is becoming a growing trend because of its moisturizing and healing properties, in addition to antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Now when you think of hemp, a few things may come to mind…but we’re going to talk about the use of hemp oil in hair products.  The essential fatty acids (EFAs) are supposed to help with shiny, stronger, hair.  Let’s break down the benefits.

Why use hemp oil?

Prevent Breakage

Products with hemp oil help maintain the natural texture of hair and prevent water loss by adding moisture to the hair and scalp. For those of us traveling this summer this is very essential for hotter, drier climates because we need that extra moisture for our curls.

Moisturize the Scalp

Who likes dry hair? Nobody. Hemp oil helps prevent water loss from the scalp. Yes, really. It is easily absorbed into the scalp so you are getting deep nourishment with each use. Having drier or brittle hair can make styling much harder in a warm climate, so having a product meant to retain moisture is the best.

Promote Hair Growth

For those of us trying to have long hair goals this summer, hemp oil could be the magic trick you never thought of. The fatty acids (omega 3 and omega 6) help stimulate hair growth. The proteins in hemp help formulate keratin in your hair while improving blood circulation to the scalp.
