Who says you can only get great hair color at a salon? Here are a few hair coloring tips for getting great color at home.
1. Test a few strands
Test a few strands of hair first. It’s less a hassle than dealing with a head full of a color you don’t like.
2. Do a patch test
Do a “patch test” on your skin before coloring (every single time”> to make sure you do not have a sensitivity to the dye.
3. Salon “dimension” trick
Buy another dye a shade lighter to “paint” on tiny (1/8-inch to 1/16-inch”> strands of hair around your face after the initial coloring, possibly around the crown for a light-infused, natural, dimensional look.
