My hair doesn't air dry well - it gets really fuzzy and overly separated - and I hate walking around with wet hair, and it's too cold here in the winter for that. And I can't sleep with wet hair - I have to sleep with my hair braided up or it gets really, really tangled, and if I put my hair up wet and go to bed, it's still wet in the morning.
So I wash my hair on a day when I can stay home (a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, a day off, etc.) I alternate airdrying with diffusing and/or a hood dryer - this seems to be the best for my hair, and I never touch, scrunch or flip it over. I comb some products in and/or finger-rake and comb in a little more and comb out when it is dry.
