Okay, so I ordered a sample of Garden of Wisdom's Castile Cleanser, without castor oil.

In the meantime, I'm trying out Earthscience's Clarifying Face Wash. It has a pH of 5.0 according to the company's website. And it's pretty cheap, about $10 for 8 fl oz. That's comparable to Neutrogena.

I'm curious about whether the cleansers may be too harsh, and if the humectants could be effective. I've listed the ingredients below, with cleansers in red and humectants in blue.

Aqueous Infusion of Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice,
Disodium Cocoamphodi-acetate,
Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate,
Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate,
Cocamidopropyl Betaine,

Peg-150 Distearate,
Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract,
Rosemarinus Officinalus (Rosemary) Leaf Extract,
Ascorbic Acid,
Betula Alba (Birch) Bark Extract,
Sodium Hyaluronate [hyarulonic acid],
Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract,
Macrocystis Pyrifera (Kelp) Extract,
Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract,
Zinc Sulfate,
Citric Acid,
