The Body Shop Cottonseed Curl Boost? Tell me more!
Okay. Since Robin-in-FL brought it up, I am wondering about this!!

Other 2's tried it? Liked? Not?

It looks like it has a little pump or perhaps a sprayer. Is it creamy? Liquidy?

Recoil was too moisturizing so it sounds (from Robin's description on another thread) like this might be good for my easily OC'd hair!

Thinking of going to TBS to check it out today.

Please share comments!!!

I like it...
It's a pump. It doesn't pump out much, so I have to use about 3-5 pumps per area (usually left, right and upside down). I find it is lightweight, works best with heat (ie diffusing) and leaves my hair a bit bouncier and shinier. I use it as an enhancer/leave in. I didn't like it when I first got it but was air drying then. This is what prompted me to try diffusing more.

If there's a shop near ya, why not go and ask for a sample to try?

Well, I went and was spooked off by it. I squirted some into my hand and it felt, and disappeared into my hand, just like lotion. Really soft and creamy. I need sticky and grabby! Later I reread that heat activates it so now I wonder.

I am doing some experimenting but now think that maybe even the MOP Curl Cream is too heavy and I only use a pea sized amount-for my whole head-distributed in soaking wet hair and then I blot and add the rest of my stuff. My hair just does not care for moisture!!

I use it as an enhancer, too. It's the first thing I put in my hair when I get out of the shower. After that, I add gel and plop before I diffuse. I like this stuff, it helps tame frizz and enhances the lazy spirals I have. The only thing I don't like about it is the way it smells. I find it to smell icky, but I put up with it. I don't think it's too moisturizing, though, at least not for my hair. I get weighted down, too.

I find it to be very light. The only other curl creams I've tried that I can compare it to are Purology (not CG) and Curls For Target Creme Brule...and this is much thinner and lighter than those to me.

Erin, so you're liking it then? How much are you using?

JAJC, I say there's no harm in asking for a sample to try. For your hair, you probably need way less than me. My hair is fine but dry and porous.

Yep, plunkybug, I'm liking it so far. I got my hair cut shorter yesterday, so I used 2 pumps on each side of my head, then 1 or 2 pumps on the back of my head just this morning.

How much shorter?

Went from BSL to shoulder length. I have a little shrinkage, too, so it skims the shoulders. I just posted pics in the 'what did you do with your hair today?' thread.

Jumping in here! hair is a lot like yours. Doesn't really like moisture. Recoil made my hair really soft (nice) but wasn't good for my waves at all. Mop c was great for a week, then I really felt that it was coating my hair and I took it back.

Now I'm in a major dilema again. I bought CJ strengthening condish which major broke me out (allergic to jojoba) and the CJCCL which I also think is just too heavy!

ANY suggestions for something that will give my curls a boost? I can't even use magnesium sulfate because it breaks my skin out!!!!!!!! help!

I'm going to go learn how to use the swap board to see if any of you guys are interested in the strengthening condish and the cjccl...

Justajesuschick...did you try the cottonseed yet?

justajesuschick 11-24-2010 08:09 AM

I have not but have tried everything else under the sun!!

MOP is fine, I cannot tell a difference either way. May swap it.

Boots Pink curl creme works great but is hard to get.

Right now I am LOVING Alba Botanica Strong Hold Gel. Big, at curls!!

sorry for reviving, but is it necessary to diffuse? or can it be used with air drying only?
