High Porosity Help?
Okay, a liiittle less mystified - but I did learn that my hair has really high porosity, any suggestions? I just bought myself... the Renpure Organics moisturizing shampoo and Paul Mitchell 'The Conditioner', I'm thinking a once or twice a week shampoo regiment as described on LCLF (Live Curly Live Free - Curl Care), but this porosity thing has me a little in the woods.

(I'm a 2c-3a, 3a leaning with the very long length weighing it out to 2c if that info's needed)

Hmmm....I responded to your post but it seems to have mysteriously disappeared. Anyway, I have highly porous hair too and I find protein treatments work well with my waves. There is a great PT by IAgirl on this forum. Do a spot test if you're concerned about how it will affect your hair. Good luck! :)

I second IAgirl's PT:
I try to do this every week, and it has helped my hair immensely.

I also have high porosity - I can put a couple tablespoons of conditioner on my dry hair and it sucks that stuff right in - within 10 minutes, you can't tell I put it on. I use IAgirl's gelatin PT every week, but I also do weekly rinses with diluted apple cider vinegar (ACV rinses). I use about 1/4 cup of acv and dilute it out to 2 cups with water - pour it over my head after I rinse out my conditioner and let it dry in my hair. Huge difference in the feeling of my hair!

AliceEnigmatic, we have similar hair situation with the weight of your hair bringing your hair down to a 2c. I'm going to try this PT and acv rinse also, let me know how it goes for you?

I've never tried either, but it seems like my hair could definitely use it.
