Pre pooing?

Do you wavy curlies feel the need to pre poo before cowashing or washing? What do you think works best for you as a pre poo?
That just sounds funny! Lol! But what I do is the night before I wash I just put some coconut oil or most often olive oil on the bottom half of my hair and braid it. I leave it over night and then wash in the morning. Olive oil is best in my hair.

I like using coconut oil and was using it religiously before i washed or cowashed but something was making my hair tangle too much and i read somewhere that coconut oil might do that. Do you feel like your hair doesn't feel/look as good if you don't pre poo?
