What to put on my second day waves?
My hair always looks nice the first day I do it, but on the second day my hair looks like a rats nest! My hair hates when I try to re wet it the second day! so I was wondering if I should just put in some type of sealer/curl cream on the second day on my dry hair? does anyone have any recommendations because I hate washing my hair everyday! thanks!

I've never improved my hair by adding product to dry hair. I wish I had a good answer to this!

How long is your hair and do you put it up or anything when you sleep on it? How long have you been CG? These days, I typically put it up in a pineapple at night, then swipe some leave in conditioner over the canopy in the morning if it looks frizzy. The pineapple keeps it from turning into a rats nest too.

I fill a spray bottle, 3 parts water, 1 part conditioner. Shake it up and spray it around my head. Shake my head a bit and lightly crunch (not too much or else frizz!) and it seems to do the trick by reactivating yesterday's gel.

Nevermind..noticed you said you can't re-wet. Hm. In that case, I have no idea...

I just put my hair up in a bun. Unfortunately it kills my waves, but its still presentable and tame (as tame as my hair can be, anyway).

I'm considering a silk sleep cap for myself, maybe you should look into it?

I haven't tried a ton of gels or products but the only thing that has been giving me reliable 2nd day hair is the SM Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk. The name is so annoyingly long.

I do conditioner-only styling so I don't top it with gel. When I style, my waves last all day but not through the night. That means second day, they are huge, much more 2a than 2b. They get smooshed and become much looser. I don't pineapple because I haven't figured out how to do it without it falling off my head.

With other products (gels, LI's w/ no protein) I've found that my waves have a tendency to be unevenly smooshed during the night, so second day = 2a+ 2b +2c mixture. I don't really love how this looks on me, kinda unkempt. I've had okay but not great luck rewetting second day.

Anywhoo, the curl & style milk is making my waves looser but more evenly so through the night. So the next day I have loose waves but no frizz, and no touchups needed. I'll take this any day.

I'm fine, normal, normal, medium density... I think this is important to consider.

For my very rare second day hair, I absolutely have to start with PERFECT first day hair. I divide my hair into two sections and sleep in pig-tail pineapples. Then in the morning, I smooth on one of several light hold gels; Spiral Solutions Curl jelly, CJ CIAB, or Uncle Funky's Curly Magic. These gels work fabulously for me on dry hair and don't dry crunchy.

My hair is about bsl and I've been CG for over a year. I do usually sleep in a pineapple, but every time when I wake up my waves are really loose, but frizzy/soft. What LI do you put on it in the morning? And when I try to re wet it my hair freaks out a frizzes...hmm maybe its the products im using?

I have recently started using GVP sculpting liquid a knock off of the Paul Mitchell product and like the results. I often wear my hair in a pony tail, and it often gets very pouty. Today after putting the pony tail up, I dampened it just a little, pretty much just the surface hairs, then I scrunched in some of the sculpting liquid. It was instant wave and control. It doesn't get crunchy either.

I pineapple my hair and my hair the curls do flatten out a bit. I actually use as my leave in kinky curly knot today in a sprtiz bottle diluted a bit. I scrunch that in a bit and then I will sometimes get just a little bit of my ECO styler gel rub in palms and scrunch in. I use just a little bit the gel not much because I'm pretty much reactivating the gel from day before. That's what seems to work for me.

I actually really like Bioterra Curling Creme for refreshing my waves. I pineapple, then smooth some on and very lightly scrunch it in. Water is a definite no go for me, too, but the creme adds shine and perks them up with just the tiniest bit of hold that lasts all day.
