how do u apply product in hair?
soaking wet? Do u wash hair seperate from shower-I take a shower get out and dry off and apply lotion then I bend over to wash hair--shower seems to destroy my curls and makes them more frizzy.
I wash hair in shower, condition, detangle & rinse, put leave in conditioner in very wet hair in shower, comb through, sometimes KCCC too at this superwet step, though it makes my hair feel wierd like it's sucking out the moisture when I do this (it doesn't actually end up feeling dry in the end so I try to ignore it). Takes about 1 minute after shower.
Get out and stand on a towel, section hair and rake in gel, scrunch it in a little too, comb downward into parted style (like if I was gonna wear it straight) then a lot of scrunching:
Right side up with hands
Upside down with hands
Upside down with tshirt
Right side up with tshirt
-all this takes about 5 minutes or more-
Then plop overnight. Still wet in the morning! Then I've been diffusing for awhile (helps with volume) sometimes adding a little more gel right before, or a spray of water on a piece that's gone wonky and is too dry, sometimes not.
-Diffusing here is the longest step, maybe 15 min, but hair still not quite dry, usually-
So I do spend about a half hour doing my hair, counting the detangling and all, but not all at once.
I wash my hair and condition in the shower. When I get out I squeeze the extra water out of my hair, then scrunch with a flour sack towel. I have to get as much water out of my hair as possible, if not my hair is limp. If I am using a LI that day I put in a very small pea size amount now, the do my part. If I'm not using a LI i just do my part.
To put my stylers in I flip my head over and scrunch them in. Then I flip back up, rearrange and scrunch some more.
I let it sit for a little (while I put my contacts in) before I scrunch again with a flour sack towel.
When I get to work (or about 2 hrs later) I SOTC with my head flipped over.
I wash my hair upside down over the sink, adding any LI conditioner and/or gel while it's still dripping wet.
I've been trying the plopping method with a flour sack towel, but I just can't get my hair to stay in the towel.
After about 10-15 min. I remove towel and then scrunch and sometimes diffuse if it still feels real wet, otherwise just let it air dry.
I co-wash in the shower, then condition. I leave it in while I do the shower biz and rinse at the end. While still soaking wet, I put in a fair amount of leave-in, then I scrunch with a towel (still new to it all and don't have the proper equipment, but this seems to be working for now). Dry off and towel-scrunch some more. Add gel and scrunch with hands....upside down, right, left, look in the mirror and see what needs what. Plop.
And here's where any routine stops. Since I am new to it, and I usually wash at night and sleep with wet hair (before CG), I've been trying different methods (plop; plop then sleep on wet hair--best results so far; let it air dry without plopping--suprisingly pleasant results). My diffuser has been MIA for nearly a year. I need to get another one.
I co-wash and condition in the shower. Leave the conditioner in my hair while I do the rest of my showering, then rinse it out upside down. Turn the water off and rake in my leave-in conditioner.
Then I turn my head upside down (I'm still standing in the shower at this point, with the water off) and scrunch out as much water as I can with my hands. I find that if I put gel into soaking wet hair it dries sort of straightish, I have to let my hair find it's curl first THEN gel it.
When I have scrunched out a good bit of water and my hair is curling, then I scrunch in my gel. Now I can get out of the shower and dry off. I plop my hair while I'm drying off and getting dressed, then let it down and either diffuse or air dry (depending on how cold it is).
I tend to shower at random times depending on when I've worked out that day -- sometimes morning, sometimes night. It's too cold now to go to bed with wet hair so I've been diffusing if I do it at night.
