Someone in the "hair business," who used to live in Brooklyn told me that the water in NYC is "soft" water--no minerals. I don't know if it's "softened" water. Our vacation home has a water softener, my hair prefers the water at "home," which is moderately hard--a 3 of 4 when I set up the espresso machine. Maybe it's just what one is used to that's the issue??
