Have you ever heard of dry deep conditioning? I've tried it (along with others) and I've noticed that it made my hair feel softer, moisturized, and more conditioned. It's basically just putting conditioner on dry (not wet) hair. My theory is that because the hair is dry, less space is taken up by water and more space for the conditioner. What I do is a mix of a hot oil treatment and dry DC by applying warmed up (not burning hot) oil that is said to penetrate hair, like olive, coconut, and avocado, then put conditioner on top, then any oil to seal. After that I wrap it up with plastic. You could use heat if you want by doing it in the shower, with a steamer, plain ole body heat, a blowdryer, or the fancy schmancy heat caps for less time. I tried it both ways starting with wet or dry hair and I prefer dry hair and it also involves less jumping in and out of the shower. So, I get to be lazy but productive.
