Help me out here. Are honey and agave considered humectants?? If yes what are my alternatives to increase hold? I am in Colorado and we are lucky to get dews above 40 it is so dry and I think I should avoid humectants. I have already cut glycerin. Any ideas??

A lot of people add aloe vera gel to their FSG/okra gel- (not sure why I didn't, but will add it to my list of to-do experiments, lol!) It's a humectant too, but has hold as well. I've also read that the thickeners themselves have some holding powers.
