Just to add to the confusion,
thought that silicones help seal your folicle so that it is smooth but prevent moisture from entering. So that they hold in moisture but your hair isn't able to take in more moisture thus causing eventual dryness.
And I thought they are supposed to help hair dry faster, since silicones repel and shed water.
(my dogs aren't snarly, my hair is)
