Nape of neck (just under hairline) itch!

I'm having a massive problem with lower hairline itch and I wonder if I'm in need of a product change! It started a few months ago, very mild itching right at the middle of the lower hairline, just inside the hairline itself. It's gotten bad enough and wide enough (some days the itching goes from ear to ear, following the hairline) that I worried about dandruff (which I suffered from as a child) and psoriasis, which I understand is a severe form of it. I've been being very good and "itching" with the flat of my index finger when it gets too much and have noticed what I'm praying isn't dandruff! My hairdresser used the Eufora Urgent Care and that takes care of it for a day or so (two or three the first time she used it), but it comes back every time! The last time this happened, I ended up with the Neutrogena Dandruff Control, but that stuff is very harsh.

Currently I'm using Herbal Essences None Of Your Frizzness Shampoo and Totally Twisted Conditioner. Could these be the cause (ingredients)? Any help would be wonderful with this! The itch is driving me nuts!

As a note, I live in Vermont, where humidity and temperature tend to change at a whim.
Wow, that shampoo is filled with trouble! Lots of 'cones and sulfates--both of which make my head itch. Also, propylene glycol which causes me to have major eczema and itch. Have you tried going with something less artificial? Or tried going cg?
I haven't yet, but that's cause I've been having a heck of a time finding anything in my price range for curly hair. My stylist did suggest Eufora (I have a post about that in another area of this forum). It's supposed to be 100% natural. We live near a lake and she told me it could go right into that lake from the shower and not hurt it at all. I had honestly thought HE was cg, so I guess I'm not very good at deciphering all this! I understand cg is no-poo and I'm wary of removing that from my routine completely right off. Any products you'd recommend? I can see if anything would be carried in my area. I'm sure most of what's carried at my local grocery store would be out!
If you go Cg, I highly recommend v05 as a condish for co-washing. It is a cheap, widely available drug store product, too.
College student with super-fine 3a-b curls.
Currently loving shampoo bars, and looking for a new conditioner and leave-in.
Just lovin' the smileys!!!
CG for three and a half years!
as a staff working in a salon, i recommend u changing ur shampoo. switch to the one with less artifitial ingredients.
actually u should make some changes 2 or 3 weeks after starting getting itchy instead of a few months!!! who knows if it's a serious product quality problem!!
last advice, if u still feel itchy, go to c the doctors is the best solution.

i trust what i use!!
Not to panic you, but do you have kids? The head lice can make the nape of your hair itch.

Med-Coarse, LowPorosity, NormalElast (LCLF)

Shoulder-Length now.

Wash: DevaCare Low Poo
Detangle & Rinseout: Walgreens or Sally's Conditioning Balm (always)
Leave-in: DevaCare OneC (budget choice is GFTN)
Style: ReCoil & DevaCare Arc Angel (budget choices are HESMU or Got2BSpikedUp)

A while back, before I went CG, I used HE shampoo (can't remember which kind) and I got similar results- flaky and itchy! If you stick with shampoo, I would switch to a higher quality one. At the time, I switched to Redken and didn't have any issues after that. Good luck!
Began Mod CG 8/29/10
Mostly 3a (I think) with some 2a & 2b thrown in for good measure, porous due to color, normal elasticity
Loves ACV and maybe protein

Low-poo: Giovanni TTTT
CO-wash: V05 Kiwi Lime
Condish: GF Triple Nutrition
Leave-in: GF Sleek & Shine (HG??), LOOB, almond oil
Gel: LA Looks Sport
Straightening (I know, I know! I just like a change every once in a while!): FX Flat Iron spray, Jonathan Dirt

Still experimenting with products, but generally, the cheaper the better!

I don't have kids so I'm thinking this isn't lice. Sides, my fiancÚ isn't itching (yeah, I still am ...) May need to see a doctor about this, since I changed products and it's still there. Thanks though!

I'm using a different shampoo and conditioner (I put it in my hair and let it set through the length of the shower), it's supposed to be natural, as far as I can tell it is good, just not made specifically for curls. I don't put any extra product in my hair. Hm... yeah next doctors appt, time to find a reason for my itching....

Look up Waterlily716 on YouTube and look up her two videos on hair washing. On the second one she talks about this and how to help it.
My head itches in that same place when I sweat, which I tend to sweat more there. Also when I used Garnier Triple Protection as a co-wash and scrubbed it in, it made my whole head itchy. When I use it as a rinse out it's fine, so I am thinking it's an ingredient in the garnier. When I use my Organix Acai Berry and Avocado conditioner for a co-wash (and sometimes use the shampoo when I need to clarify-it has no sulfates or cones) and Suave Naturals Wild Cherry Blossom as a rinse out, I'm fine. I know most people use Suave as their co-wash, but for some reason, my hair seems to like it as a rinse out. I have always used expensive hair products, so it's neat to see that so many people use drugstore stuff, it makes experimentation much cheaper.

3b (sometimes a little 3a mixed in)
thick enough to make 10 thick wigs lol
low porosity
pretty new at this!!!
co-wash every other day
co-wash: Organix Acai Berry and Avocado Conditioner
(Organix Acai Berry and Avocado Shampoo for an occasional low-poo)
rinse out: Suave Naturals Wild Cherry Blossom (I leave it in for 5 min. or so before rinsing)
leave-in: Garnier Sleek and Shine (new formula has no cones)
mousse: Samy Curl Activating (yes, it has one cone, the one that starts with a)
