Taming my hair!

I have 3b curls, shoulder length, freshly cut, and i use suave professionals shampoo, conditioner, and mousse for curly hair. I just air dry my hair or diffuse it lightly for a couple of minutes. I adore my curls, but it seems as my day goes on, my hair expands too much! It just seems to always be getting wider, and i don't know what products to use to keep it on the tame side. I'm open to any new product regimen as long as i can get curls that stay put, because i live near the ocean and its really humid all the time! help me!!!

I have to use a good holding gel as the last step. When I am completely dry I finger comb out any crunchiness and have nice curls with out frizz that generally hold all day.

Kinky curl custard works well for taming.
Your hair is seeking moisture, which means that your products aren't moisturizing enough. Pretty sure the Suave shampoo has sulfates, which strips the hair of it's natural oils. The conditioner doesn't have a lot of moisture. Any mousse can be drying because of the propellant. In addition, it could have drying ingredients. First thing I'd recommend is changing products.

Second thing to do is investigate sealing. You can search and find a lot of threads about it. It's using an oil/butter or rich product to seal the moisture into your hair.

A good thing for you to do is to read the stickies at the top of some of the forums. They will help you learn how to pamper your curls.

Another thing to do is to determine your hair properties. Here's a link to help Live Curly Live Free - Curly Hair Basics It helps you know how to choose ingredients/products.
